Charles Ackerman

Executive Director of Operations

(Master's Degree in Adult Education) Rusty Ackerman received his M.A. in 1995 from the University of Phoenix with a 4.0 GPA. He had 14 years experience working for Pima Community College's Adult Education Program (PCAE) before resigning to pursue a career in treatment/recovery programs three years ago. While at PCAE, Rusty managed multicultural and multilingual programs, developed curriculum and specialized in assessment and evaluation, and he wrote grants and contracts for services. In 2002, he was honored by the Mountain Plains Adult Education Association (an 8 state region) as the Educator of the Year. That year he was also the president of the Arizona Association for Lifelong Learning. As a recovered alcoholic and addict, Rusty has lived through many of the devastating consequences that can accompany the disease of addiction, and he has found new hope and a new way of life through living and working in recovery at the River Source.

Testimonials Dwne erro

"What brought me to The River Source is that my mom and my best friend love me enough and were worried about me. So they thought that it would be a good idea as did I. We chose The River Source because it was California, Colorado, or here. My mom chose here over Colorado because she thought that it had more to offer. My experience was very great. I learned a lot and it was a great environment. River Source helped me a lot helped me get sober. I want to live a strong and healthy life. It helped..."
