INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 PROTOCOL FOR THE RIVER SOURCE
As leaders in behavioral healthcare, The River Source has taken significant steps since March of 2020 to uphold our mission and continue serving individuals, families and communities affected by addiction while simultaneously responding to the spread of COVID-19. With new, more transmissible variants of the virus surfacing, the pandemic continues to be a dynamic and fluid situation that we will continue to closely monitor as we remain vigilant in our commitment to keeping our staff, clients, and their families safe.
Read on to learn more about our most up-to-date safety protocols, service and programming changes, and the various resources we’re providing to ensure our clients continue to have access to highly effective, affordable treatment and a safe place to find recovery from addiction.
AUGUST 2021 — KEY PROTOCOL UPDATES:
- Clients are not required to get vaccinated prior to treatment. However, we strongly recommend they take it into consideration.
- Frequency and types of COVID-19 testing have increased for clients and staff alike.
- KN95 masks and necessary PPE gear must be worn on-site by staff at all times.
- Clients must be prepared to wear masks while in common areas, during groups, and when unable to socially distance.
- All recommended cleaning and safety measures from the state of Arizona, US Chamber of Commerce, and the CDC will continue to be met and/or exceeded.
- Adjustments to outside visitation protocols have been made to mitigate risks, and all family contact will now be done virtually/via phone call.
- Detox and residential services in Arizona City, as well as partial hospitalization services in Gilbert remain fully operational.
- Outpatient services in Gilbert are now available in-person and online, and resources for our Telehealth IOP option have been increased for clients who wish to participate virtually.
- Clients starting treatment can potentially qualify to defer out-of-pocket payments for up to 90 days.
- All meetings for Alumni members will be held virtually via Zoom, including 12-Step, Men’s meetings, and Women’s meetings.

The River Source is making every effort to help alleviate some of the financial burden by offering to defer payments on out-of-pocket expenses for up to 90 days. SERVICES & PROGRAMS:
- All detox and residential services in Arizona City, as well as partial hospitalization services in Gilbert are fully operational.
- Outpatient treatment services are available in-person and online. Our Telehealth IOP is recommended for those in “high risk” groups or situations, but is open to anyone who prefers receiving care virtually. Please consult with your admissions coordinator and treatment team to discuss which format is the best option for you or a loved one.
- We have continually fine-tuned our Online IOP curriculum since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020. Our curriculum and online facilitators specialize in creating engagement via online settings.LEARN MORE ABOUT ONLINE TELEHEALTH SERVICES
- After some recent precautionary changes in the layout of our facility due to COVID-19, and in effort to mitigate the risks for potential outbreaks, we have temporarily changed some of our gender-specific programming. Until further notice, certain aspects of our program will be conducted in a gender-neutral environment for both men and women. If you have any questions or concerns about this temporary change, please contact our admissions team directly.
- Meetings for Alumni members will be conducted virtually via Zoom until further notice, please reach out to our alumni hotline if you have any further questions:
— 12-Step Meetings, Saturdays at 10:00AM
— Men’s Meetings, Mondays at 7:00PM
— Women’s Meetings, Tuesdays at 7:00PM
FACILITIES:
- Outside visitation to our facilities has temporarily been suspended as all family intervention and contact from loved ones will be conducted via telephone and video.
- We are monitoring for symptoms in our clients and staff on a daily basis and taking proactive steps to keep everyone safe while serving the needs of our community.
- We are actively monitoring and responding to all recommendations made by the CDC and our local regulatory and health authorities.
- We have implemented additional training for all employees on handwashing and hand sanitization, and strict employee and client compliance with washing/sanitizing hands thoroughly and often.
- We have increased the frequency of the required cleaning and sanitization of our facility, including intake rooms, surfaces, and common areas.

CLIENT VACCINATION POLICY:
- All staff and clients are required to go through a comprehensive screening process prior to entering our facilities.
- All staff are tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis.
- All new clients are tested for COVID-19 upon arrival, and will continue to be tested on a weekly basis throughout the course of treatment.
- All staff and clients will receive both Antigen (rapid) and Molecular (PCR) tests to ensure both timeliness and accuracy of results.
- KN95 masks and necessary PPE gear must be worn on-site by staff at all times.
- Aside from designated times and areas, all clients will be expected to wear masks while on campus at any of our facilities.
- We are adhering to all the requirements of the US Chamber of commerce’s workplace tips.
