Michael Pava, MS
Director of Outpatient Services
As Director of Outpatient Services at The River Source in Gilbert, my role consists of providing supervision to clinical and programming staff, implementing strategic initiatives, and cultivating a team-centered approach that strengthens our ability to provide effective client care. My professional and personal commitment to recovery drives the use of therapeutic methods that are solution-focused and strength-based, combined with the collaboration of families and the community in order to maximize potential for those seeking long-term sobriety and a new way of life.
Outpatient programming provides individuals with a structured, safe place to increase awareness, acquire critical life skills, process difficult experiences, while gaining the tools needed to assist in preventing relapse. With a professional background in psychology, family systems, program management, as well as addiction counseling, I am confident in our approach to behavioral health and our ability to meet each client where they are. Most individuals receiving outpatient care experience difficulty with time management, interpersonal pressures, family obligations, demanding jobs, and financial stressors. These situations are often inevitable and can be a struggle by themselves, let alone in early sobriety. Our Outpatient Program is designed to assist with this transition and can walk our clients through a process that encourages growth, responsibility, and freedom from the cycle of addiction.
A Little About Me…
I am an Arizona native, an ASU Sun Devil, and a graduate from Grand Canyon University’s higher-level education. Aside from an amazing position at The River Source, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, and am continually seeking ways to grow in all areas of life, composing a connection between mind, body, and spirit. Having personal experience with the chains of addiction, I take consistent and disciplined actions to increase my chances of never needing to return to that dark, depressing, desolate lifestyle of active addiction. Other activities I get to enjoy include golfing, oil painting, exercising, and using an awesome grill to make a delicious steak!
