Substance Addiction Treatment Resources and Support
The River Source is committed to educating people about substance abuse and its impact on individuals, families, communities, workplaces, and society at large. We provide integrative treatment options for individuals who suffer from substance abuse, as well as co-occurring conditions such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders or personality disorders. We also know how to work closely with the family unit, which is especially beneficial for recovering addicts and alcoholics in codependent relationships or experiencing marital/family distress.
As you explore our website, we hope that you find the answers, support, and guidance that you are looking for. Addiction is a powerful, complex, and debilitating disease, but it is not a death sentence. Recovery is a lifelong process that requires constant care and nurturing, but this is no different than any other large life project such as raising children or growing a career.

When dealing with an addiction, the best thing you can do for yourself and your family is to get educated. Addiction is not a character flaw or a choice. It’s not something that can be given up with strength and courage. It’s a disease that may require intensive therapy and lifestyle changes. We encourage all families to educate themselves and others on the nature of addiction so that they may be the best supporters possible in their loved one’s recovery.
Terms and Definitions
As you or your loved one starts their journey in recovery, it’s important to know the definitions of the terms that will be used. This clarity will help you better understand what skills and tools are being learned in recovery as well as what the 12 Steps entail.
