Robin Brumage of The River Source Team
My role at The River Source is women’s overnight BHT where I provide emotional and behavioral health support to patients. I encourage patients throughout their recovery and make suggestions to assist patients in succeeding in their addiction treatment. Besides my hourly and specialized rounds, I also take the women out on their breaks, prepare paperwork for staff the following day and help with general maintenance of the facility.
My background in mental health, working with children, and working with dual diagnosis has taught me that there are more than likely underlying issues that has led a person to resort to self-medicating to numb their thoughts and feelings and block out their past issues. I believe that all patients should be treated equally no matter their backgrounds and that anyone can change their life for the better.
I have always worked with people who are not so fortunate to have an average daily life. Having seen family and friends who have suffered and lost their lives due to drug and alcohol addiction, I know the importance of compassion, understanding and non-judgmental treatment to aid in recovery.
A Little About Me…
I love to camp, hike, ride quads, hang out at lakes and ride in my little boat when I am in the mountains. I am an avid rock hound and crafter, but I love more than anything to be with my grandchildren.
When I am not at work, I enjoy watching sports games, and my favorite teams are the Arizona Cardinals and Golden State Warriors. You can also find me helping out at the local food bank, listening to music, or taking care of all my pets – a dog, two cats, and a bird!
