An Email Whitelist is a list of e-mail addresses or domain names you select from which an e-mail blocking program will allow messages to be received.
Why is this Important?
Many e-mail and internet companies are now using programs to block unwanted e-mail, commonly known as spam. Sometimes, however, these programs block the e-mails that you actually want to receive.
As it happens, there’s something you can do to keep prevent this content from not showing up in your inbox, simply create your “whitelist.”

In your inbox, locate the email you received from email@example.com regarding the Alumni Newsletter.
Drag this email to the “primary” tab of your inbox and all future emails you receive from us will go right into your primary folder!
Open the email you received from firstname.lastname@example.org regarding the Alumni Newsletter.
Locate the + symbol next to “From:___sender’s name___“
Select the + symbol and an “Add to Contacts” pop-up should appear. Select “Save”
Locate the email you received from email@example.com regarding the Alumni Newsletter and right-click on the message in your inbox.
Select “Junk E-mail” from the menu.
Click “Add Sender to Safe Senders List”
Select “Mail” from the top menu.
Then click “Preferences”
In the “Preferences” window, click the “Rules” icon.
Then, click the “Add Rule” button.
In the “Rules” window, type a name for your rule in the “Description” field.
Use the following settings and information below to fill in the rest of the page:
If “any” of the following conditions are met:
Select “From” and “Contains” from the drop-down menus, then type in firstname.lastname@example.org in the text field next to “Contains”
Perform the following actions:
Select “Move Message” and “Inbox” from the drop-down menus.
Click “OK” to save the rule.
